Academic Clubs


FRENCH CLUB

Purpose

Explore the culture and traditions of France and francophone countries and encourage the use of French through leisure activities such as games, cooking, music and dance (on campus). Other activities include outings to plays (e.g. Les Miz, The Phantom of the Opera), music and dance performances (e.g. Le Ballet National du Sénégal) and authentic French restaurants.

SPANISH CLUB

Purpose

Explore the culture and traditions of Spain and Spanish-speaking countries and encourage speaking Spanish through leisure activities such as, films, cooking, music and dance (on campus). Other activities include outings (e.g. Notre Dame High School for a Day of the Dead Party) or hosting a fiesta for Cinco de Mayo, music and dance performances (e.g. La Peña at the Old Town School of Folk Music) and authentic Hispanic restaurants (e.g., Mexican, Spanish, Argentinian, etc.)

DIGITAL MEDIA CLUB

Purpose

Promote and provide student development in camera, media, production, directing, editing and composition, sound editing, story-telling skills and problem solving

Host the annual film festival.
Produce DVDs for both student purchase and RDHS promotion.
Enter various contests and competitions throughout the year.
