Regina Athletics by Iman Darwish '14
A Message from our Athletic Director
Regina Dominican High School offers the largest all-girls athletic program in the state of Illinois. Athletics is an important ingredient in the Regina curriculum in providing a total educational program for our student body. Over 60% of students participate in at least one sport.
- 12 interscholastic sports
- 26 sports teams
- 8 Illinois State Titles
- 2 Third Place Illinois State finishes
Each Regina Dominican student-athlete agrees to represent her school and her team with dignity and enthusiasm and to support and respect her teammates, coaches and officials. All Regina athletes adhere to the school's academic eligibility regulations and work with the faculty and coaching staff member to maintain academics as the primary reason for being a student at Regina Dominican High School .
With approximately 90% of students on the Honor Roll, success occurs both in the classroom and on the playing field!
Regina Athletics offers an experience in competition, cooperation and conduct. Coaches utilize the athletic arena as a classroom to impart Christian values, self-esteem, dedication and sportsmanship upon our student-athletes.
Regina is one of the 20 schools belonging to the 30-year-old tradition of the Girls Catholic Athletic Conference (GCAC) within the Illinois High School Association (IHSA). Regina Dominican boasts 8 members of the GCAC Hall of Fame, along with three inductions into the Illinois Basketball Coaches' Association Hall of Fame.
The Athletic Department offers guidance on college athletic recruiting, as our coaching staff has several collegiate scholarship athletes with experience and knowledge to share.
Regina Dominican High School adheres to the policies of the IHSA, which prohibit athletic scholarships, financial aid or monetary awards based solely on athletic talent.
You are always welcome to come cheer on our Panthers.
