Fine Arts

The Fine Arts Department strives to develop an understanding, knowledge, and appreciation of the arts. The extensive curriculum includes both theory and practice in art, drama, and music.

ART small arrow Students gain proficiency in the basics of drawing, color theory, and design through experience with a wide variety of art media. Course instruction include work with painting and drawing materials, ceramics, and computer graphics, as well as study of major trends in art and artists.

DRAMA small arrow Students develop performance skills and theatrical knowledge through class instruction activities and extra-curricular school plays. Coursework includes the study of voice and articulation, stage movement, improvisation, character and scene development, stage terms and theater history. Advanced students participate in direction of school productions and class scenes.

MUSIC small arrow Students expand vocal and instrumental talents through class work and concert performances. Performances include winter and spring concerts and the annual Benefit production. First year students enroll in the Regina Choir to study voice and basic music theory, and in Orchestra to develop instrumental talents. Advanced students may qualify for admission into the Regina Chorale or Chamber Singers choruses.

FORENSICS small arrow Students learn dramatic and public speaking skills while sharing in the fun of being part of a dynamic, supportive team. The forensics team participates in individual events, in which members compete in dramatic, interpretive and public speaking areas, and in Student Congress, in which students deliberate their own bills and pass their own laws. Get a jump start on the season by attending the Forensics Camp in early August.

DANCE small arrow Sophomores, juniors and seniors may enroll in Regina's dance class. Students also can find great opportunities to develop their talents as members of Orchesis, the school's extra-curricular dance troupe.

FALL MUSICAL SPRING PLAY small arrow Students may gain additional skill and experience in stage performance, and technical stage work by participating in these two major extra-curricular productions.
